Installation Problems With v.4.3.1

Installed v.4.3.1 for first time this afternoon.  Before install finished I received the following error message:

             Unable to execute file: C:\Windows\system32\schtasks.exe
             CreateProcess failed: code 2
             The system can not find the file specified.

I looked in Program Files and the program is there but unsure if I should try to run it under the circumstances.  I tried a second install and received the same error message.  System here is Asus M4A785-M board running an AMD Athlon II X4 630 processor at 2.8 GHz with 4 GB RAM.

MyDefrag tried to create scheduled tasks but failed to do so because you do not have the schtasks.exe (it's not included in all Windows versions). It's a known problem and will be fixed in the future.

You can run MyDefrag normally though. You just don't have the auto optimization (unless you create these tasks yourself).

Hi Darlis,

Thanks for your response to my post.  It's good to know that I can still use the program.  Is the schtasks.exe file included with Windows XP Professional or with Windows 7.  If so, I was thinking that I could get it from one of my friends and put it in C:\Windows\system32.

I guess the program only comes with the Pro versions of Windows. But I'm not sure if it will just suffice to copy the exe file. It may depend on other files or settings, too.
