MyDefrag just began to crash today. So I downloaded and installed the debug version. In the instructions it says to

"Change the "Debug()" setting in the Settings.MyD file. Usually the "Debug(175)" setting will generate enough detail. "

But where is this file? I can not find it to change the setting.

Is the file name actually "settings.MyD" ? Will it open as a text file?

Thanks

my OS is Win7

The settings file should be in the installation directory, like C:\Program Files\MyDefrag v4.3.1\Scripts\Settings.MyD.
And yes, you can open it as a normal text file. There should be an "Edit" menu entry if you right click on the file.

It's the "Program Hints" crash. Look here for a solution.

Sorry for late reply, been busy with a new job and haven't sat in front of the machine for a few days.

Your reply is sort of vague. I will read through that thread and try to figure out what you mean.

Thank you

PS just had a BSOD this morning but i'm sure there is no connection.

A BSOD? Then something is wrong with your system. I have never seen a BSOD since I have my notebooks.
