This is my first post to the forums, I would like to thank Mr. Kessels for creating such an awesome defrag application, I have been usuing it on all of my systems since it was Jkessels defrag. Quite a few years ago.

The purpose of my post was for this reason: as the title states. I am not a script writer by any means and don't currently have the time to learn the language verbage and create one myself.

I am looking for a System disk script optimized specifically for Netbooks for System booting and commonly used application performance. This is not a gaming netbook or anything, mainly used for surfing the web on google chrome and maybe the occasional use of pidgin for IM's, I do run AVG for AV software.

I have searched the forums for a script of this nature but only found the poll thread http://www.mydefrag.com/forum/index.php?topic=2975.0

If anyone would be willing to create this script or already has a script they are willing to share it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

If the netbook has a mechanical HDD you can simply use the System Disk scripts. Apart from the miniaturization, there is no difference between a PC, notebook or netbook.
I've tweaked the System Disk scripts a bit so that they move less files but they are still equal in performance: [Script] Optimized System Disk Scripts

If you've got an SSD, don't do defragmentation. There is a Flash Disk script you can use but use only very occasionally.

I don't know much about the scripting but what I meant for netbook and such is, would it be logical to move system files to the fastest part of the disk? I had a 320GB mechanical HDD. Possibly might upgrade to a SSD to increase performance but then I wouldn't need to defrag Smiley haha.

That's exactly what the System Disk scripts do. Wink

Ahhh Thanks for the info. I guess I should've read up more on the default scripts. It's good to know that you don't need anything specific for netbooks. I guess just more memory would be best.
