http://hofmannc.de/defragxp/benchmarks_en.htmlThe above url led me to this forum, so I will stop using my current freeware defrag, for a while at least.
1) Faster boot times (above url).
2) Quicker undelete (sectors-clusters closer together)
3) Better undelete, especially after writing '0' to unused clusters (another utility does this)
4) Quicker, better partition resizing
If you get hiber.sys & pagefile.sys type fragmenting or problems, use a light-weight version of Linux, such as Xunbutu. Ubuntu-derived Linuc can load or boot quickly from a USB flash stick or card. It can read-wroite to MS WIN7 NTFS-COMPRESSED partitions very easily & reliabily.
Using Linux, it is easy to delete any Windows files of EVERY kind. For most PC work I use Xubuntu-64, but must use W7-64 compressed for some apps. 'untu operating systems are faster, smaller than anything coming from the USA government. Also - no need for security-dragging performance of the USA either.
