«

I have windows 7 and i am showing 3 discs to defrag, , c disc, recovery, but the first one showing is called
\\?Volume{4f035929-9156-11de-8af6-806e6f6e6963}
on the standard windows defrag tool it shows its 11% fragmented, but when i defrag it it stays at 11%
can i safely defrag this using MyDeFrag ?

I came on here to plead for assistance about how to get rid of a domain I don't want, but I also have similar unknown Volumes which are being used to destroy my PC ;(

It depends on what your volume contains. What data is on that volume? MyDefrag is completely safe for any standard, normal, Windows volume. Why has a programmer somewhere decided to protect that data by making it inaccessible? It is unlikely, but possible that the reason is that it is NOT safe to defragment the volume.

Safe for whom? The volumes on (or attached / linked) to my systems are being used for unattended silent installs (or re-installs), corrupting my files (which System File Checker believes are the corruptING files, so it replaces them - or vice-versa) - it's a retarded roundabout of file corruption that ends predictably. BSODs then
good game, game over
.
Can MyDefrag actually get to a \\?\\Volume - or does that prefix mean it's hardlinked or virtual or...?

Yes, it can. Volumes that have not been mounted anywhere (on a drive letter A...Z, or on a subfolder) can still be accessed (and defragmented) by MyDefrag, which can be handy in certain situations.

And if they have been mounted on a drive letter? What options does one have then?

Did you actually try to mount the volume yourself? Since this is a special volume you may be unable to do so, but it should be possible to mount it from Linux (like GParted).

Well to be honest, I kinda thought the \\?\\ precluded my attempting to mount them?
But in ubuntu and Mint, fresh installs of either would deliver huge recursion-like folders of files I simply couldn't access as root (or with sudo).
I got tired of hearing "that's normal" from them, as well.
am hecka hoping there is an auto-image-resizer with this forum software..if not, whoops my bad

You can link the image, then the image would pop up.
I think it is kinda soft-link to itself. So the folder links to itself in a recursive manner. You should try to delete the softlink.
