A question to the "Programm hints" bug

Hi

I already read the instructions what to do when this bug appears. Nevertheless I have got one question.

I use Windows Xp, Sp3.
After deleting all prefetch-data out of the prefetch folder and activating the task scheduler, there is no need to boot before activating My defrag? I usually use My Defrag in the save- windows mode to give the programm the possibility to defrag more parts of my harddisk. So what? How should I proceed:

1) Deleting the contents of the prefetch folder in save mode too, and then starting directly My Defrag there
2) Deleting the contents of the prefetch folder in normal mode, then rebooting directly in save mode and starting My defrag there
3) It doesn't matter at all

I don't check this because I do not really know how the princip of "Programm hints" works. Having deleted my prefetch contents completely without any reboot....well there are no programm hints left, that can be used for optimizing the start up. I would be pleased if you gave me a hint.

The "program hints" or "prefetch" files contain lists of files used during booting and program startup. MyDefrag uses this list to better optimize the disk. Without these files you get less optimization. So, I would suggest option 4):
Restart and run all the programs you would normally use at least once. This will recreate the program hints files. Then execute
rundll32 advapi32, ProcessIdleTasks (Enter this text in the Start > Run dialog and wait one or two minutes). This will recreate the layout.ini.
You can then run MyDefrag.
