Log files, which used to show up in the MyDefrag folder, are now showing up in my %USERPROFILE% folder. MyDefrag.dat is there now, as well. I have never specified a location for these. Is there any way to put them back?

Seems thast you are using Vista or Windows 7 and you are a victim of the useless User Access Control (UAC). The files are in VirtualStory\MyDefrag <ver>\, right?

I'm using XP SP3. Apparently this started when I upgraded to 4.3.0 on or about the 21st of May.

MyDefrag writes the logfile and .dat file to the MyDefrag installation folder. The default folder is "C:\Program Files\MyDefrag v4.3.1", but you can change this when installing MyDefrag. Did you do that? If so then uninstall MyDefrag and install again. Make sure you do it on a userid with administrator permissions.

I figured out what happened. I outfoxed myself.

Since I started using MyDefrag, I have always named the folder "MyDefrag", without the version number. When I wanted to see the script changes for 4.3.x, I used the version number so that I could look at the new scripts without interfering with what I already had.

Since I already have separate scripts for the C: drive and "other" drives, I merely copied the new app & help files (minus the scripts) to the "MyDefrag" folder and deleted the "4.3.1" folder. I am assuming that when Windows went looking for a folder called "C:\Program Files\MyDefrag v4.3.1", and didn't find it, it defaulted to the %USERPROFILE% folder.

Doesn't matter... I added the full path to the log file names. Problem solved.

Strange, I did something similar but I had not such problems.
