A few suggestions...

Part of the defrag tool could continuously watch in the background how programs start, write this information to a log each time a program is run for the first time - or if it changes through being updated, then use this information when defragging to make the programs start faster, by putting the program's .exe and .dll files (and so on) next to each other on disk.

As for the JKDefrag.exe program, why not make it the "main" defrag tool for most users, available on it's own for download?  Also, make it perform a "full" rather than "fast" defrag, by moving the most accessed files to the fastest area of the disk and the least accessed files to the slower end?

Thanks for sharing your idea's, I appreciate it! Monitoring the useage of files has been on my list for quite a while now, but it's not as easy as it sounds. It would make JkDefrag far more complex, and I expect it wil result in only a marginal increase in speed as compared to the "sort by name" optimization option. So it's on the list, but with a very low priority - may never happen.

I suppose I could split up the download into separate downloads, yes. But the download is only 330 kilobytes. I don't mind the bandwidth. And I think most people will want to download all three versions anyway, even if they don't use them all. People are greedy, and if it's free they want it all.

The "fast" optimization method also moves the spacehogs to the slower end. And the directories to the begin, and then the regular files.
