I found this open source tool innounp that is able to extract any files from MyDefrag's install file, its a commandline tool but there is instructions how to integrate it with Far Manager and Total Commander on the site.

This tool makes it possible to extract the 32bit(MyDefrag,2.exe) version of MyDefrag on a 64bit(MyDefrag,1.exe) Windows or vice versa.

Hopefully using this tool don't violate MyDefrag's license.

The tool does not violate the license and it is perfectly all right to extract files from the MyDefrag distribution.

If the intention is to repackage MyDefrag, then please note that the MyDefrag license only allows repackaging if a full copy of the original MyDefrag v4 distribution is included. It is fine to bundle MyDefrag with some other stuff like a GUI, a MyDefrag script, or a setup program that does some additional setup like creating a schedule. But please use the original MyDefrag setup program in that bundle, to make sure that on the user's computer all the MyDefrag files are correctly installed in the correct place and with the correct settings.

Cheers for the heads up.

I really hate using installers for Windows due to the pollution of the Registry which 9 times out of 10 are left on uninstall.

I'd much rather have a zipped distribution unless it's absolutely required.

My D:\ has so many stand alone apps this way.

The MyDefrag installer is well-behaved and will delete all it's registry items on uninstall. If you do NOT use an installer then registry items will most definitely NOT be cleaned up on uninstall.
