Well, since I can't reply to the original announcement topic, and I've got nowhere else to post it... I just wanted to share...

A huge THANK YOU to Jeroen for this version and all its bugfixes!  Grin

Thanks for all y--... oooh, shiny donate button... *clicks*

edit: Ahh, with that out of the way. I'm glad to see the long-standing compressed files bug has been addressed! I'll find out in a short while to what extent it resolves the problem, but I'm quite glad to see it's been addressed at least Smiley

edit edit: Now if only I could convince ya to give us a darn ZIP download (or, at least, a self-extracting archive installer like WinRAR) so I don't have to jump through a hundred hoops to update the MyDefrag package... =(

I can verify that 4.2.7 is running a hell of a lot faster than 4.2.6 over severely fragmented files (2,000+), although I haven't checked to see if those files are also compressed. It was making short work of a painfully cluttered 1GHz Celeron system with a packed 20gb hard drive.

However, the drive map still "flickers" with fragmented files... *shrug*

Was the memory usage for each file of around 500 byte optimized to a lower amount?
