I miss an option to zoom to actual size on the cluster bitmap on the screen. With that I mean the zoomlevel where 1 pixel = 1 cluster.
And now I'm at it: a 2x, 4x, 8x etc zoom to actual size feature would go very nice with that.

Thanks for sharing your idea, I appreciate it. I have put it on the list for future implementation.

Personally I'd rather see Jeroen focus what time and energy he has for MyDefrag on functional features, as he's taken his defragmenter from being a cool novelty to one that defines the state-of-the-art (as far as the Microsoft API allows)...

That's not to say I don't think a 'cool' GUI and fragmentation display wouldn't be nice; in fact it would (sadly) probably help MyDefrag get even more recognition. I'd add that elaborate feature laden displays can be very resource heavy which is rather the antithesis of what Jeroen has done with his defragmenter/optimizer.

The good news is MyDefrag Open Source, so anyone that wants to create a really elaborate display for the program can, which I'm sure someone eventually will.

Oeps, no, it isn't. JkDefrag is open source, MyDefrag is closed source.

Ooops.  Embarrassed  It wouldn't be too hard to offer your own special API, or some sort of plug-in interface for those that might be interested in coding a more elaborate display... Though I don't suppose that's especially worthwhile unless or until someone expresses an interest.

But it's that last information leak that really got my attention!

I totally agree with you here. That is why I waited quite some time with starting to propose GUI stuff and even GUI bugs, since we all agree that basic functioning should prevail. But by now I have a feeling the program is working, apart from a few bugs, so let us start focus on the next steps.

So I will keep proposing cosmetic features from now on.
Sorry... Smiley

I have 60+ items in my wishlist, most of them functional and not cosmetic. And I am sure the list will keep growing faster than I can implement.

And I have a feeling you are perfectly capable of deciding which changes are most urgent. So let us encourage people to share their ideas. Also if they are bad.

Is there any chance that MyDefrag will offer command line version like JKDefrag, or integrate command line input and output at some point in the future?

MyDefrag has only a small amount of commandline parameters because you're supposed to use the scripts. Wink
But you might want to take a look at the RunMyD.bat.
