In drive with many small (1-2 clusters) gaps filling that gaps take many time.
May by add possibility to set gap size filling threshold and skip gaps with size below this threshold.
That may increase process speed on not hardly filled volumes.

Thanks for sharing your idea, I appreciate it. The program has several alternatives that offer a tradeoff between completion time and optimization quality, for example FastFill and SortBy. So perhaps in the future I will add a minimum gap threshold. However, I feel that it would result in an unacceptable optimization quality. Gaps promote fragmentation, and should be filled as best as possible. Especially small gaps, they are the worst.

My own speed-up idea was to hash all file names (complete path and name) and used the hashes to match the lists that users provide in the selection scripts, and the list that's in the bootoptimize file.  But if the code is nearly done, you may not want to go down that road...  :-)
