LBDefrag v0.1
http://futrades.s12.xrea.com/missingFiles/LBDefrag.zip

Features:

- Reads %SystemRoot%\Prefetch\Layout.ini and has JkDefragCmd.exe defrag and optimize the locations of the listed items slowly in the background.

The tray icon is the only user interface that lets you pause or stop the program.

Don't over look a program called Scan Defrag 5.5  They are what brought me here as they have incorporated the Jeroen Kessels  defrag into part of the program and give credit for such.  It can also allow the ability to create a restore point before defrag, and also allow choice  between Microsoft, Norton or Jeroen Kessels defragmentation methods.  PLUS you also can put a nice little utility program into the same directory call PageDefrag and it allows you to also defragment the page file system.

Scan Defrag 5.5 can be found here:  http://www.blueorbsoft.com/scandefrag/index.html

LBDefrag v0.2
http://futrades.s12.xrea.com/missingFiles/LBDefrag.zip

OVERVIEW

A tool to run JkDefragCmd.exe v3.8 very slowly, (by default,
on idle priority with "-s 5") in the background, reading one
line at a time from List.txt, created from
%SystemRoot\Prefetch\Layout.ini. It is fully automated and one
need only to start LBDefrag.exe on Windows XP, (or later
versions of Windows if they still uses Layout.ini).

Use the task tray icon to pause or terminate the program running.

Features:

. Runs JkDefragCmd.exe at 5/100 of its normal speed, with the
  lowest priority.
. Uses Sysinternals's Contig.exe when appropriate if it is
  installed in the same directory.
. Optionally uses Factory Sakura's runassys.exe if it is
installed in the same directory, so as to run Contig.exe as
  SYSTEM.

Changes:

. v0.2 - fixed very rare occurrences of defragmentation of
a file taking an abnormally long time, with a negligible
  increase of CPU load.

Known Issues:

None found yet since v0.2.

I wrote myself a GUI (or rather a "command-line-creator") for JkDefrag some time ago, but now i want to release it to the public, because i think my program's aim is a bit different than that of the other GUIs.

It is designed to be simple and small, so it does not have too many extra features.
I personally use it mostly to run JkDefrag on my BartPE disk Smiley .

Feature list:
- supports all command line options of JkDefrag 3.11
- all settings are saved in a plain-text file in the same directory where the executable is
- can also copy the generated command line to the clipboard instead of running it, so you can easily create batch files
- optimizes the generated commandline: default options (like "-a 3") are left out.
- does not require that the JkDefrag.exe is in the same directory as the Starter (doesn't even require that ANY executable of JkDefrag is available on the computer Tongue , but it can use any of them (also the command-line version))
- small standalone executable (136 KB uncompressed)
- written in pure C++ and WinAPI -> no additional dependencies
- currently supports two languages: English and German

For download an a screenshot use the following link (page is German):
http://web41.server2.dce4u.de/index.php?menu=Infos/Miniprogs/menu.html&page=Infos/Miniprogs/jkdefragstarter.html
The archive includes the complete Visual Studio 2003 project.

Nice really nice ..

One thing I did notice is after running JKD the 'Finished' window is blank (same as if you just run JKD.exe), with Ewieldra's GUI the display stays in the window allowing you to see the result of the defrag. Just a subtle change that would improve it I think.

Possibly have the GUI window close after clicking run would be a possible improvement also. Having said that they are very minor niggles and its a nice straightforward GUI, well done.
