Thanks for testing and for posting the logfile, I appreciate it! The logfile shows that the program crashed while shutting down, after it had finished the script. Although not worrisome it is still a bug, and very likely tied into the known problem where the program crashes when switching to the next disk, while cleaning up old data from memory about the previous disk. I am working on it...

Thanks for answering.
Maybe I was not clear in my explanation: I only defrag one disk(partition).
But maybe it's not important for the bug.

First, I highly appreciate your work on JkDefrag and MyDefrag. The very first thing I do, installing or optimizing any version of Windows, is disabling the built-in defragger - then I install one of yours. MyDefrag is my late discovery, shame on me Embarrassed

I run v.4.0b7 on Windows 7 RC x64. On every fresh install it crashes on first HDD, swithing from first partition into the second one. But it does it only on the first run and running enclosed "optimizations" scripts only. "Analyze" and "defragment" scripts are not plagued with this behavior. Log included.

Thanks again for your valuable work and best wishes Smiley

On your Windows 7 crash.  If when you install Windows 7 you don't do so on a previously formatted drive, Windows 7 will create a 100 MB Partition which is used for boot and system files to repair the main (second) partition in the event of an issue.  My guess is MyDefrag is having an issue with that.  I removed it so I could encrypt the drive.  If you want to see how to remove it and to learn a little about it, here's a nice link:

It's not my case. I NEVER allow ANY OS to do ANYTHING without info and approval  Tongue. I've ordered to format 1st (existing) partition on the 1st HDD during Windows 7 setup. It was the 2nd one on that HDD, with data on it. It was also the 2nd HDD in this PC, with one partition, with data on that partition also. I frequently use freeware Partition Saving tool http://www.partition-saving.com/ for backup and restore. It can recognize ANY partition, even hidden/unnamed, and I do not have any. So, it's not my case, but thanks for the info Smiley

Your logfile shows that you are indeed plagued by the problem where MyDefrag crashes when it is cleaning up information from memory. I had hoped that beta 8 would have solved the problem, but it is already apparent that the problem is still there.
