Hope the graphics display during defragmentation run could be improve unique to the JkDefrag program without slowing down the defragmentation process.

The display is rather stark and primitive, I do agree. I'm a programmer, not a graphics designer and I'm just not very good at making things beautiful. Also, I have concentrated on functionality instead of appearances, and chose the current display simply because it was very easy to program. Perhaps someone would like to design a better looking interface for me?

oh no!  please don't change the graphics display!  Shocked

I think it's unique and runs resourcefriendly and effective.

OK - an option to change the Colours would be fine - but it's not essentially Cool

Cheesy
hi jeroen ,

first of all , congratulations for this prog.

don't change the display it seems , and IS , more effective ...
maybe , could you make bigger the job it's doing... I mean the "place" where the disk is being defragged...

I'm on high resolution , and I've some difficulties to see what's going on ...

anyway , great job !

thanks

I too very much like JK Defrag's clean and simple interface; I love form that follows function...  A couple suggestions here do make a little sense though: a coarse resolution option is a nice idea, as is some display option that uses minimum resources...

Perhaps at some point when the most important functionality of JK Defrag is complete (script interface Cheesy yay!) a graphic interface plug-in feature could be offered so people more graphically inclined can play with and perhaps make some really creative and useful displays.

One approach might be to offer the an JK Defrag MMC Snap-In, this offers JK Defrag access to all the MCC's features and interface widjets and plug-in architecture, offer a path for Fans of this program to configure its UI, would also make JK Defrag aesthetically and seamlessly integrated into the Windows Operating Systems, and offer System Administrators that like to use the MMC for Administration unified access to JK Defrag.

There's a lot of free tools and source including the MMC SDK itself for creating MMC Snap-Ins and they offer a lot of nice Administrator client/server features; just a few MMC links if interested:

ˇ Hitchhikers guide to using MMC
ˇ MMC 2.x SDK Download
ˇ Developing MMC Snap-Ins (with source sample)

There I've gone and done it; I've made more suggestions then I ever intended or hoped I would...
