Small boot cd of jkDefrag

You know, i have been thinking. Defrag tools cant move windows files cause they are being used by windows. So why not make a bootable cd and defrag the damn thing that way. No red collor (i hope) will apear, your disks will be defrag like windows has ben just installed.

Now, is this feature available on any other website? Or will jkDefrag make one?
I hope they do.

You can use BartPE to make a Windows boot CD that you can run MyDefrag from, there are other ways too, but they need to be Windows NT based.
Search for bartpe for more information.

BartPE is outdated and was abandoned a long time ago. It was created because Microsoft was too stingy and didn't want anyone to get hold of WinPE.

But, thankfully, Microsoft reversed its position and now makes WinPE available to everyone.

will jkDefrag make one?

Thanks for sharing your idea, I appreciate it. It's a useful idea, but building the core MyDefrag program takes up all the time that I have available. If somebody else would like to create such a bootable CD then I will be more than happy to put a link to it on the JkDefrag homepage (or the MyDefrag website).

p.s. There is a "JkDefrag PE Plugin" available, see the "Contributed by other people" chapter on the JkDefrag homepage.
