Will force end task produces data loss?

Hi all,
I tried to use the software to defrag my harddisk which has huge amount of files.
I have ever terminated the process by task manager since it was still running for a long while after I had closed the window.
I worry that this may cause data loss. Does anyone can explain it to me?
Thanks,
Keith

All versions of JkDefrag can be stopped safely at any time, there is no risk of losing data or corrupting your disk. You can use all the usual ways to stop a Windows program, such as pressing ALT-F4, clicking the 'x' in the top-right corner, via the pull-down menu in the taskbar, or by killing the program via the task manager or another utility. The commandline program can be stopped the same way, plus by pressing CTRL-C, or BREAK. It may take a bit of time for the program to actually stop, JkDefrag will finish the current file in the background.

Thanks for your promptly response.
What I have done is end the process during it was running background.
With another concern, does the API delete the original file only if it is completely copied to new location?
Thank you very much

Yes, either the move succeeds or is rolled back. That's the reason every defragger uses the API.

Yes. The API has proven to be very solid and reliable, even since Windows 2000. I have never heard of any data ever getting lost.

Thank you for your reply.
I am now at ease from my error-prone operation.
