Hey all!

I'd appreciate just a quick check if everything I've done is on track.

Quick summary of my comp

WinXP Pro 32 Bit
75 Gig WD Raptor - All files on C:\
C2D
2 Gig Ram

Currently my paging file is set at custom size of 2046 (both initial size and max).

  • I've run CC cleaner, disabled windows background disk defrag and ran an initial JKDefrag with settings : \JkDefrag.exe" -a 7 -l "" -q
  • I've also enabled - fsutil behavior set disablelastaccess 0 (just did this through the cmd prompt?..)
  • My virus scanner (avast) doesn't change access dates/times on files which is good news.
  • I've setup a scheduled task with the properties: \JkDefragCmd.exe" -a 3
  • When I run it, it lists: NtfsDisableLastAccessUpdate is inactive, using LastAccessTime for SpaceHogs.  Is that right considering I've enabled the command fsutil behavior set disablelastaccess 0?

Is there any settings anyone might recommend which I might have missed?

It all sound fine to me. You have actually done several things more than the average user.

Yes. There is a little bit of confusing boolean negatives there, but setting "disablelastaccess" to zero will enable the recording of the last access times, so that JkDefrag can use them for the SpaceHogs. Please note that it will take some time for the situation to settle down, the last access times were not recorded before so they are old.
