How can I post an image in the forum? When writing a posting click the "additional options". You can then attach any file on your computer, not just images.

Thanks Jeroen,
I haven't read the help file either. Didn't knew the preview doesn't work. I will update my previous thread.
By the way, thanks for the defrag and keep on the excelent work. Pretty anxious for v4.

So, how can we change the permissions of a super-hidden file like the USN Journal? If, at least, where visible from the Windows API... At least in Vista there is a 'SuperAdministrator', which has even more rights than any member of the Administrators group (and no UAC prompts ). By default the account is disabled and hidden, you have to enable it. http://www.computerperformance.co.uk/vista/vista_administrator_activate.htm

Nice tip but same message:
Error: Acess is denied.
This is the same as "Run as administrator", or am I missing something?

Run as Administrator runs in the context of Administrator, loading the account loads the complete superuser.
Well, that's the highest privileges you can get... Try that BootCD.

Yep, that seems to be the only solution.
Neither icacls or takeown are working, too.
Here's the Administrator output:

Gave the bootable xp cd a try. The knoppix dvd is not there yet (they are working on it). That let me delete it and disable it. However something went and recreated it and reenabled it *sigh*. Least that caps the 'growth'/'fragment' problem. But does not disable the problem yet ...
I did come across this in the event viewer. These policies are being excluded since they are only defined with override-only attribute. Policy Names=(IIS-W3SVC-MaxConcurrentRequests) (Shell-InBoxGames-PurblePlace-EnableGame) (Shell-InBoxGames-PurblePlace-EnableGame_w) (TabletPCAccessories-EnableJournal) (TabletPCAccessories-EnableSnippingTool) (TabletPCAccessories-EnableStickyNotes) (TabletPCCoreInkRecognition-EnableText) (TabletPCInputPanel-EnableTIP) (TabletPCInputPanel-EnableTIPSynced) (TabletPCInputPanel-EnableTIP_w) (TabletPCInputPersonalization-EnablePersonalization) (Telnet-Server-EnableTelnetServer) (Telnet-Server-EnableTelnetServer_w)
That may be a clue...

I have uninstalled TablebPC though.

I have it disabled as well. I wonder if HP is using 1 image for both tablet pcs and normal laptops.

Hey MyDefrag came to my rescue! The latest version has a script command called DeleteJournal() which works!!!
I did that on a Vista HP laptop and it worked!!!
Just put it under the VolumeActions section of the script file (use notepad).
