Currently, it looks like most of the time is spend on defragmenting large files which are only fragmented a little bit. It would be fine if (e.g. optionally) large files would not be defragmented if there are not "too much" fragments.

What settings are you using when running jkdefrag?
The action you ask for is how jkdefrag should already be running, unless you have overridden the default behaviour.

How often are you running JkDefrag? My advise is only once per day. This is usually enough, even on very busy servers. Wherever possible I set programs to create logfiles per day, for example webservers and mailservers, so that JkDefrag will only have to defragment the logfile from yesterday.

Version 4 of JkDefrag will have many options to control which files will be processed, for example an option to only defragment files that have fragments smaller than a selectable size, or have more fragments than a selectable number.

Nothing special, I just start JkDefrag.exe.

How often are you running JkDefrag?
Approximately two times a week.

Sounds interesting. Do you have a very raw idea about when it could be ready (weeks or months)?

Progress is slow, I am very busy with other things right now. Definitely not weeks, at least several months.

Hi to all,
if you want speed your partition or Hd with a large files, you must first format it and choose the largest cluster size.

If your Hd or partion are NTFS you must choose 64k of cluster size.

Please tell me about that.

Bye.
