Can I use both Scan defrag and Page Dfrag in vista?  I have tried to open zip file , but I am not sure on how to unzipp it in the ScanDfrag folder.  I tried..I restarted with the set up for ScanDfrag to run , and I cannot find anything about PageDefrg being  enabled. Is there any benefit to use  PageDefrag in Vista?

I think PageDefrag is not available for Vista, and the latest version of ScanDefrag is v5.5, released on 4/20/2007, and contains a very old version of JkDefrag.

Would it be your suggestion that I stay with JKdfrag version 3.34  is the version I'am using ...and add ScanDeFrag?

I think ScanDefrag is setup to always use it's build-in version of JkDefrag, but I'm not sure. There have been many improvements in JkDefrag since a year ago, so if you can you should definitely keep using v3.34.

When I tested ScanDefrag a few weeks ago I just replaced the older JkDefragCmd.exe with the latest one and it seemed to be working fine. Before you do this, rename that older version to something like "JkDefragCmd_old.exe":

ScanDefrag runs JkDefrag quite late during Windows bootup process, that's why I don't use it any more. My preferred procedure is as follows:

1) Start PageDefrag and set it to "Defrag at next boot".
2) Run disk cleanup utilities, like MS Disk Cleanup, CCleaner, etc.
3) Run registry cleaners, like Registry Mechanic.
4) Restart Windows, wait for PageDefrag to finish and exit from Windows.
5) Run JkDefrag from BartPE, VistaPE or similar environment on USB flash drive or CD.
