i couldn't launch the second instance of jkdefrag to defrag my 2nd hard disk while it's defragging the first one. why defragging 2 hard disks simultenaously isnt supported?
Most computers have only 1 harddisk, and simultaneously defragmenting 2 partitions on the same harddisk is extremely slow. Computers that have 2 harddisks usually have a small power supply and bad cooling, and can get into serious trouble if both harddisks are excercised fully. Also most computers have only 1 harddisk controller, which can only access 1 harddisk at a time. So on startup JkDefrag will check if another instance is already running, and if so will exit.
For power users who know what they are doing it is possible to run JkDefrag on 2 disks simultaneously, by simply making copies of the JkDefrag program, for example "JkDefragC.exe" and "JkDefragD.exe". Do not run the original program, and run each copy only once.
