Jeroen It appears you were right about my laptop being on battery power,that was the cause of the immediate finish result. i tested two laptops on/off battery power . on battery power ,i got the immediate finish result,and on ac power,it worked fine. thank you for your help. regards Steven western australia.

hello again. when i click on the different choices i.e. fast update,fast optimize etc. the program opens,but keeps showing finished,straight away. it won't run. it did this when i first installed mydefrag 4,but later it ran ok. now it's doing it again. any ideas? it is on a vista os,but i also had the same problem with an xp pro sp3 os. thank you regards steven

Hello. with the 3 version of jkdefrag i could access a drop down menu and choose to defrag all my hdds,or choose an individual drive or external drive,flash drive etc. how can i do this with mydefrag v4? thank you regards Steven
