What I am wondering is, in others opinions, what is the advantages or differences between mydefrag's slow optimization/fast update scripts and jkdefrag's sort by name/fast optimization duo? I amcurious as to what you with more experience have to say. I know that they work differently and I am just wondering why one could give more performance improvements than the other. Thanks! Rich

I have been using JK for as long as it has been around and have been trying out the Mydefrag betas as they come out. I know that Mydefrag is still in beta and was wondering if it is still more effective than JKdefrag. What are the opinions of folks on the forum? I have not had any problems with the betas but am wondering if I am getting any performance advantages until the final Mydefrag is released. By the way, I am just a home pc. Thanks! Rich

Hey Jeroen. I was just wondering when the next version might be released. Is it going to be another beta? Release candidate? Or final? I am grateful for your wonderful software and am anxious for the next. Thanks! Rich

Thanks Jeroen. As I am becoming more adept I appreciate the simple explanations. Every one is a newbie at everything in life at one time. I love your work, it makes Windows more usable! By the way, I have noticed that the Fast Optimization leaves less fragmentation than the Slow Optimization/fast update. Why is that? Thanks.

Newbie here again! What are the performance advantages and disadvantages of using the Slow Optimization/Fast Update schedule as opposed to using a daily Fast Optimization script? Excuse my slowly increasing understanding of this awesome utility, but are there any advantages to one or the other, or does it depend on the what I need from my computer? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Also, I understand that this is in early beta stage (and I love the JKDefrag), but even at Beta 3, I think that this utility is far superior to anything else (free OR paid). Thanks. Rich

Thanks jonib, but I am a true newbie. Am I too new for this forum...? Could anyone walk me through what the "fast optimize" script for just C drive looks like? How do I add this to mydefrag? I am wanting to learn this...

Thanks for all of the work on this amazing defragmenter/optimizer. I am learning, slowly but surely. What is the script to allow me to just "fast optimize my C partition? As long as I am on the topic, what about "slow optimize" and "fast update"? I don't necessarily need to do my other partitions as frequently. I apologize for my lack of knowledge on this, but I am trying. Thanks again! Rich
